CHRISTIAN HOME PART ONE

CHRISTIAN HOME PART ONE

INTRODUCTION (Contd Next Week)
The Christian Church cannot flourish without the Christian Home.
The Christian home is the backbone of the nation, the salt of civilization.
A Christian home is an institution where parents are bound together by Christian love; Where children are welcome and scripturally instructed Prov 23:24, Prov 22:6, Prov 3:11-12; Where parents and children gather daily for family worship.
Jesus is not only the supposed Head of the Home, but the Actual Head Eph 2:20.
A Christian home is a place where members of family enjoy rest, privacy, a sense of security, and learn to work, play, pray and plan together.
A Christian home is one in which members of the family learn to regard one another as one whole unit, where loyalty, honesty and cooperation are practiced and learned by each member of the family team.
A Christian home is one that radiates Christ, welcomes strangers, and dispenses hospitality without measure. A Christian home consists of a God-fearing Father, God-fearing Mother, and God-fearing children. Gen. 18:1-5,19
1.GOD-FEARING FATHERS
*God has placed the husband not husbands, not womband as the head of the home 1 Cor 11:3.
This is the order and the home that reverses it, breaks God’s plan and destroys the peace of that home.
Note, the wife is not a slave under the feet of the husband. She is a helpmeet taken from his side, to remain at his side, and equal partner. Eph. 5:22-25
*A godly husband must fulfill God given duties to his household.
a. It is the husband’s duty to love his wife, not merely command respect Eph. 5:25-28, 1 Pet 3:7
b. The husband must be faithful to his wife Mal 2:14, Heb 13:4
We live in an age of lax moral standards. But God’s standard has not changed Gal 5:19-21. He demands honesty, frankness, and faithfulness between partners.
c. He ought to consult with his wife on business matters, for they are a team. By virtue of marriage, they two have become one - a single unit Gen 2:24
d. He ought to provide for his family 1 Tim 5:8
CONCLUSION
The Christian husband will always put Christ first in his life Luke 14:26. He must love his wife, but he must love Christ more 1 Cor 11:3. He is the priest of the house and is responsible to establish a family altar for daily worship. May the Almighty God continually build you into a Godly husband and parent in Jesus name.
