TOPIC: NEEDLESS PAIN
Text: Jer. 8:20-22
INTRODUCTION
Sometimes, in Christians walk with God, we try to solve our problems with our own strength and ability and in every other possible. Many times, however, we are disappointed. As believers it is important for us to be conscious of who our Savior is and all His promises. In John 16:24, the Bible says ask and you shall receive that your joy may be full. Jer. 33:3 says call unto me and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things that thou knowest not. As we open our hearts to receive God and His message, may we be encouraged and strengthened in our faith in Christ Jesus. Amen.
1. WHAT PEACE WE OFTEN FORFEIT
*Jesus is our peace and only in Him we can be at peace no matter what. John 14:27, Eph. 3:19
*We have the assurance of safety in all trials of life. John 16:33, Psa. 34:19, Nahum. 1:7, 1 Cor 10:13
*God is saying, give no room to anxiety in your life in any circumstances. Phil. 4:6-7, Psa. 94:19
2. WHAT NEEDLESS PAIN WE BARE.
*Christ's work at Calvary took away our pain. We are not to carry any burden. Isa. 53:4
*We have a Savior who promised to carry all our burdens. 1 Pet. 5:7
*Christ is a bundle of solutions to every naughty issue in a believer’s life. Numb 23:19, Psa. 107:20,
Eph 3:20-21
3. WE ARE TO CARRY EVERYTHING TO GOD.
* Take everything to God in prayer Phil 4:6-8, Psalms 18:6, Isa 50:7
* Trust God Psalms 9:10, Psalms 62:8
*When we neglect or refuse to carry all issues in our life to God, there are consequences.
It amounts to walking alone in a world full of hungry roaring lions 1 Pet. 5:8.
We deny God all the glory accrued to Him by not seeking His help.
To ignore God is to live outside His secret and protected place Psa. 91:1.
CONCLUSION
The message from God to us tonight is very clear and simple. God is saying “I did not save you and choose you to suffer pain. Remember who I am in your life as you diligently and devotedly carry out the assignment that I gave you to do. I am the Author of your life. Your present and future are in My hands. Therefore, walk with Me and be fulfilled”. May God continually keep us in Jesus name Amen.
