Text: John 3:3-8
INTRODUCTION
Conversion and regeneration are inseparable. Conversion is the act of turning from sin to Christ. Regeneration is being made a new creation by the Spirit’s power.
These two factors are the instruments that bring us into Kingdom of the Son of God and God’s family. The new birth is the door to salvation and consequently to heaven.
1.YOU MUST BE BORN AGAIN
*The Scripture plainly teaches that all need to be born again. The language of the Savior is imperative. John 3:3,7
There is no exception to this rule; neither sex, age, position or condition exempts anyone from necessity of the new birth.
*There is no substitute for the new birth. To fail to be born again is to be lost eternally.

*The universal sin condition of man demands a change and the new birth for salvation
Rom 5:12, Psalms 51:5, 2 Cor 5:17-19
2. UNDERSTANDING REGENERATION
*Regeneration is a spiritual quickening. It is a supernatural act of God. Eph 2:1-6
*It is not reformation - reformation is an act of the old nature turning from certain evils. No one can reform the old nature. 2 Cor. 5:17, 1 Peter 1:23
*The Author of regeneration is God Rom 1:16. The channel of regeneration is Christ John 1:12. The executive of regeneration is the Holy Spirit John 3:6-8. The medium of regeneration is through receiving Christ by believing the Word of God John 5:24.
3.THE EVIDENCE AND RESULTS OF REGENERATION
*A genuinely born-again Christian lives a righteous and obedient life 1 John 2:29
*The born again one does not commit sin 1 John 3:9, 1 John 5:8, Eph 4:21-24
*He lives an overcoming life 1 John 5:4
*He believes that Jesus is the Christ 1 John 5:1
*New and holy desires spring up like the well of living water John 4:14, John 7:38
CONCLUSION:
The new birth is a Sovereign work of the Holy Spirit. The new birth is the secret work of God in man while the evidence comes later and manifests in many ways to others. John 3:8. May our lives manifest the evidences of a regenerated soul to the world in Jesus name.
