THE PERSON YOU ARE BECOMING

THE PERSON YOU ARE BECOMING

INTRODUCTION
One of the first notable commands to the followers of Jesus Christ is the call to transformation.
We were directed to stay away from the lifestyle of conformity to the world but to be transformed in God Rom. 12:2. Believers must never be well adjusted to the culture of the dark world from where we were first rescued. Deut. 4:20, Isa. 9:2, Titus 2:14, 2 Cor. 5:17, 2 Pet 2:20-22. May the Holy Spirit give us deeper understanding of His Word today in Jesus name.
1. WALK THE WALK WITH THE SAVIOR
*The Scriptures refer to walking as interacting with a person, a way of life that implies constant conduct and habitual behavior. Christians are divinely chosen to be part of a cause as given by Christ. 2 Pet 2:9, John 15:16, Matt 28:19-20.
*We must first see ourselves as part of that cause. It provides motivation and powerful stimulus for transformation and growth. Heb. 12:1
*A cause requires a sustained effort, taking a position and systematically transforming us into the image of Christ. 1 Pet 1:13-19, Rom. 8:35-39, 1 Cor. 9:26
*A cause is more than merely a goal. It is not something that is over in a blink of an eye, or in one day, or a week. It is something that pushes a person for many years because he envisions the fulfillment of the cause, and the joy that he will have when it is finally accomplished. Heb. 12:2, 1 Pet 1:3-4, 2 Tim 4:7-8
2. SPIRITUAL GROWTH LEADS TO TRANSFORMATION
*Growing spiritually requires discipline and motivation. 2 Tim 2:15, Josh 1:8
*Feed and nurture your faith with the whole truth of God’s Word. Prov 3:1-2,8, 1 Pet 2:2, 1 Cor 3:1-3
*Take deliberate steps to develop a deep, intimate relationship with God. Psalms 105:4
*The worsening conditions of the world will exert greater pressure as time goes on. But remember, we shall be held responsible to work out our salvation. Matt. 24:9-13
CONCLUSION
We will be shaped by something and how we are shaped determines what we emit to those around us. Transformation in Christ will occur when Christians spend time with God in obedience. Matt. 5:16, 2 Cor. 3:18. May God help us to live a transformed life in Him in Jesus name Amen.
