ALTAR OF CONSECRATION

ALTAR OF CONSECRATION

TOPIC: ALTAR OF CONSECRATION
Text: Rom 6:13-19
INTRODUCTION
In God’s kingdom, orderliness is the order of things and so it must be in our world as believers. Immediately after we receive salvation in Christ, we follow the process by getting baptized by immersion and are afterwards ushered into the life of sanctification.
During this time, total consecration is required of us as we get to know Christ step by step.
As we open our hearts to deep revelation in this study, may we be quickened by His Spirit in Jesus name. Rom. 12:1
1.WHAT IS CONSECRATION?
*Consecration is an act of the will. God presents an opportunity to use us for Himself and we are willing to be used by Him. 1 Chron 29:5-6, Gen 12:1, Gen 22:12
*It is giving ourselves up to Christ forever as we are bought with a price 1 Cor 6:20, Heb 10:20
*It is abdicating the rulership of our lives in favor of King Jesus.
2. WHAT ARE WE TO CONSECRATE?
*Our bodies, lives, everything that we have must be given to Him to use as He desires. A truly redeemed believer will hold nothing back from The One who saved his soul from eternal destruction. Rom 12:1
*Our feet to run errands of mercy for His kingdom, taking the Gospel to someone. Matt 28:18-20, Eph 5:16, Col 4:5
*Our physical strength, praise God for strength and use it for His glory
*Ability of leadership and organization
*Our possession, we gladly present to Him our gold, silver, our time, and our substance. 2 Cor. 8:2-5
3. THE RESULTS OF CONSECRATED LIFE
*A life that is not conformed to this world. Renewed. Thinks as God thinks with eternity and eternal values in view Rom 12:2, Phil 4:8-9
*A life that live harmoniously in the will of God
*A life that is acceptable both by man and God Rom 14:17-19
*A life that is content, happy, joyous, victorious because it is lived in the will of God Isa 26:3
CONCLUSION Consecration is a process. It is a daily, and moment by moment yielding to Jesus. It is not by the flesh but by the indwelling Spirit as a supreme act of worship unto God by believers. May the Holy Spirit continually help us to live a life consecrated unto God in Jesus name. Amen
