CHRIST CENTRED HOME

CHRIST CENTRED HOME

Col. 1:12-17 Read
Our Lord Jesus Christ is the foundation and the end of all things. Just as a physical home without a firm foundation will eventually crumble, a home that has not Jesus as the foundation is heading for the rocks. (Matt. 7:24-27)
A Christ centered home flourishes when the life of God flows through the parents and into the children through deliberate, purposeful and Word based relationships. (Matt. 4:4, Deut. 6:6-7) There is no vacuum in nature. If Christ is not the head of a home, sadly the devil will be.
HOW WOULD I KNOW IF MY HOME IS CHRIST CENTRED?
A. Godly parents live by being examples. If you serve God, your household will follow suit. Joshua 24:15b
B. A Christ centered home seeks God’s face, praying on any family issue. They put their faith in God and through prayer they draw themselves unto God. Matt. 6:33, Heb. 11:6, James 4:8.
C. A Christ centered home speaks the truth always. Irrespective of the situation, speaking the truth encourages family members and the children to speak nothing but the truth. Rev 21:8
D. A Christ centered home shows unconditional love towards one another including the children. Give equal opportunity to every child. Give tailored discipline and give no room to favoritism.
E. A Christ centered home is united. Unity is an important factor in a progressive Christian home. Division brings separation and drowns the family.
1 Cor. 1:10, John 17:23
CONCLUSION:
God commanded parents to bring up and train their children, not merely indulge their children. We bring up our children in the way of the Lord by setting for them Godly examples as Christian parents. It takes Spirit filled parents to fulfill this biblical injunction Because what you don't have, you cannot give. Christ must be the center of everything in a Christian home. May the grace and knowledge of the Savior abide with your home, now and forever more in Jesus name.
