TOPIC: COMPLETELY SUFFICIENT
Text: 2 Cor. 3:1-6
INTRODUCTION
In today's world, men strive to be accepted. Men seem to need and almost thrive on the approval
and affirmation of others. Men just love for people to acknowledge their greatness in a world that
demands “me first and my feelings above anyone else”.
And most regrettably, Christians also get caught up in the circle. The question is, does a truly
regenerated Christian really need the approval of man in his walk with God?
As we study at His feet, may the Spirit of God deliver us from the demon of low self-esteem in
Jesus name.
1.OUR SUFFICIENCY IS OF GOD.
Our lives as believers are not really about our adequacy but that God is our sufficiency.
*We did not call ourselves. The call to salvation came from God. John 15:16, Rom 8:28-30
*He knows us and what we have to offer. 1 Tim 1:12, Matt 25:14-15
*When He calls the weak, He makes them strong. Eph 3:16, 2 Cor 12:9
*When He calls the simple, He makes them excel. 1 Cor 1:25-28, 1 Cor 8:2, 1 Sam 3:7-11,
1 Cor 15:10, James 4:6
*We don't need the approval of men or their accolades. God is our father. He is our sufficiency.
2 Cor 3:1-5
2.WE ARE NOT DESIGNED TO BE SELF RELIANT.
*We are to turn from the world completely. 2 Cor 6:17-18
*We are to put ourselves in God's care and trust in Him. Psa 55:22, Prov 16:3, 2 Cor 1:9-10,
*Any attempt to be self-reliant outside God could lead to self-destruction. Prov 28:26, Prov 16:25,
Isa 5:21
*God will not share His glory and honor with any other. Isa. 14:12-14, Isa 42:8
3.WE ARE DESIGNED TO PLEASE THE FATHER.
*The Church in Colosse was a God driven Church.
Theirs was a Church seeking to please God. They were commended by the Apostles for their faith,
love and hope.
But some within the fold were trying to lure them into abandoning the righteous path that they had
chosen. Col. 1:10, Col. 2:8-10, John 1:16

4.WE MUST REJECT ALL FALSEHOOD.
*If we are who we truly claim to be, then we must live right in the sight of God.
And the only way is to crucify the sinful flesh by living by the Word of God.
Eph. 4:22-24, Gal 5:16-18
*Studying, knowing and doing the truth will help us to discern false brethren within the fold and
keep us safe from any negative influences.
2 Cor 11:13-15, 2 Pet 2:1-3, 1 Pet. 2:2, Josh 1:8, Heb 5:12-14, James 1:22-25
CONCLUSION:
The world tells us God helps those who help themselves. Or it says, pull yourself up by your own
bootstrap. And then life happens, and we soon discover we are helpless. And often those feelings
of helplessness lead us to feeling hopeless.
But we have a loving Father who will not leave us alone, no matter what we are going through
Heb 13:5. He is sufficient for us whatever we face.
And when we fail, He picks us up. Matt 14:28-31.
Thank You God because You are our All Sufficient God.
