IF THOU WILL HEARKEN

IF THOU WILL HEARKEN

TOPIC: IF THOU WILL HEARKEN
TEXT: Deuteronomy 28:1-14
INTRODUCTION: Our God is the GOD OF CONDITION. If we are to access our full inheritance in God, He has outlined the path that we must follow in Him. For every promise, goodness and benefit from God, there is a condition we must fulfill first Isa 1:19. If we continue in full obedience to our Lord and hearken unto His voice alone, we shall receive the blessing of the Lord in every aspect of our lives. May the Holy Spirit give us understanding of this message in Jesus name.
1. God demands full obedience to His commands.
God has set conditions for us as Christians to be blessed in our walk with Him. His plan for our lives is no doubt perfect but we must obey His commands fully Jer 29:11. To do otherwise is to our detriment.
Gen 17:1-2, Gen 22:18, John 14:21,1 Sam 15:22-23, 2 Cor 10:6
2. Believers have the privilege to choose.
*God has given us free will to choose the path of obedience in order to access His numerous blessings including eternal life in Heaven Deut 11:26-28, Deut 30:19-20
*He has provided all the tools we need to choose wisely the only path which leads to redemption and life in abundance. Hosea 4:6, Psalms 119:105, Psalms 119:19
3. Hearken to the voice of God alone.
*We must as Christians set our eyes completely upon Christ Heb 12:2, Psalms 34:5. Christ is our fountain of knowledge, wisdom and understanding. As long as we remain in Him, we continue to receive perfect direction that will guide us to our destiny in Him Prov 3:5-6,1 Kings 11:1-4,11.
4. There are consequences for not hearkening to God’s commands
Prov 1:24-33, Eccl 12:13, Matt 24:35
CONCLUSION: In order for us as Christians to finish our journey well we must continually hearken to the voice of our Lord and Savior and obey His commands fully. Is there any way we have ignored God’s voice? It is time to ask for forgiveness and restoration. May the Lord bless us as we go forward to yield unto His voice and remain a blessing to our world in Jesus name.
