TOPIC: SUCH A GREAT SALVATION
Text: Heb. 2:1-4
As the whole world commemorates the most important memorial not just in the life of Christian believers but of Mankind, The Passion and the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus, every believer needs to thoughtfully reflect on the real motive behind the earthly ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ and its implication in this present life and eternity. May the redemptive word of Life shine it's truth in your heart in Jesus' name.
1. WHAT IS SALVATION IN CHRIST?
*Salvation is to be saved by God from the consequences of our Adamic transgressions and deliver us from eternity in hell. Psalms 51:5, Rom. 5:10-12, 1 Pet 2:10
*Salvation in Christ is God’s love for man that prompted His intervention to save him from eternal punishment. Gen 3:15, Heb 2:14-15, John 3:16
*Salvation in Christ is the beginning of a lifelong process of walking with God until our reunion with Him in eternity. John 3:3-5, 2 Cor 5:17.
*Salvation in Christ ushers us into our original destiny that God had pre-ordained for our lives.
Jer. 1:5, Eph. 2:10
2. WHY SALVATION OFFERRED BY CHRIST IS SO GREAT.
*Because it is the message of God’s grace, that provides hope for every lost sinner to be redeemed.
Rom 3:23-25, Eph 2:8
*Because it is the channel by which God reveals Himself and His agenda to man.
Matt. 5:17-18 Eph 2:11-14.
*Because it cost God the life of His only Son John 15:13, Rom 5:8.
3. WHAT SALVATION IN CHRIST IS NOT
* It is not by works or good deeds.
Salvation in Christ comes by God’s grace. It is a gift of freedom from our sins that Jesus made possible through His death Eph 2:8-9, 2 Tim 1:9, Titus 3:5
Salvation in Christ comes by confessing our sins and surrendering our entire life unto Jesus.
Rom 10:9-10, Eph. 1:13, Acts 3:19, Acts 4:12, John 14:6.
CONCLUSION:
As believers, God’s message to us today is to fully understand the implications and importance of what Christ did for us on the Cross of calvary concerning our eternity and to examine where we stand. Are we taking it lightly or just coasting along? Let us take the time to truly and sincerely evaluate ourselves and make adjustments. As we hearken to His voice, may we receive the strength and courage to update our lives in Him in Jesus name. Acts 17:30, Psalms 34:8.
