TOPIC: THE DEITY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
INTRODUCTION
In many of our studies of the Holy Spirit in the past, we have established the fact that He is a person.
He is not a human person for He does not possess a human body as we do.
The Holy Spirit a Divine personality, The Third Person in the Godhead.
The Holy Spirit is God Almighty, equal to the Father and the Son in every respect.
May He grant us wisdom and knowledge to understand His mind as we study deeper about Him in Jesus name.
THE DEITY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT - His divine nature
The Holy Spirit is divine because He possesses divine attributes.
1.He is Eternal: Christ was enabled and empowered through the Eternal Spirit to offer Himself for our sake. Heb. 9:14, Gen 1:1-2, John 1:1-2
2.He is Omnipresent: He is present everywhere at the same time. He is beyond all spatial limitations. To fully grasp the fullness of God the Spirit’s presence becomes difficult to fathom.
Psa. 139:7-10, Jer. 23:23-24
3.He is Omnipotent: The All powerful - With God the Spirit all things are possible. He has unlimited authority and infinite power over all. He is the creative arm of God. One of the key manifestations of the Holy Spirit in the last days is POWER. He is the Spirit of power.
Gen. 1:2, Job. 33:4, Psa. 104:30, Job 26:13, Luke 1:35, Acts 1:8, Acts. 2:4
4.He is Omniscient: The All-knowing God, The Perfect Teacher. He is the Heavenly information minister that reveals deep secrets to believers. He guides believers into the kingdom of truth.
1 Cor. 2:10-13, John 14:26, John 16:12-13
5.He justified believers at the point of salvation. He is the Life giving Spirit and The author of salvation.
1 Cor. 6:11, Eph. 1:13, John 6:63, John 3:5,6.
CONCLUSION
We cannot learn enough of the Holy Spirit, He is the unsearchable God. As we yield ourselves unto Him, may He overflow in our lives in Jesus name.
