The Peril of Helping God

The Peril of Helping God

TOPIC: The Peril of Helping God
Text: Isa 45:5-12
INTRODUCTION
We live in an era of enormous spiritual confusion. We have enthroned ourselves as the ultimate rulers of our own experience and destiny. Church needs to return to the fundamentals of faith in God. We must know the truth about God because the Gospel begins with God. May the Holy Spirit enhance our understanding IJN.
1. THE CONCEPT OF THE TRUE LIVING GOD
*The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of Heaven and Earth Psalms 89:11.
*He does not live in houses built by hand. He is not served by human hands 1 Kings 8:27.
*He needs nothing because He gives life to all men and everything else Col 1:16-17, Isa 42:5.
*Everything begins and ends with Him. Rev 22:13.
2. HE IS THE KING WITHOUT NEEDS
*God is honored by our worship and service Psalms 22:3, Jer 33:3.
Lack of any of these does not diminish His glory.
*He is in perfect health because He is actually the One who heals. Exod. 15:26.
*He is self-sufficient and independent. What He is we are not. We are insufficient in ourselves and completely dependent on God for all our needs. He does not profit from anything that we do for Him. Psa. 50:9-12, Haggai 2:8
3. HOW MAY WE BE HELPING GOD? *Weak faith may lead to impatience and attempts to help God Gen 15:3-6, Gen 16:2-4,12. *When we fix our focus on the issue rather than on God who can solve it. Psalms 146:3, Psalms 118:8-9, Isa 31:1.
*When we allow the residence of the three evils in our lives 1 John 2:16, 1 Sam 8:4-5, 2 Sam 15:1,4,10, 2 Sam 18:9.
CONCLUSION
Our God is the All Sufficient One. He is more than able to do all He has said He will do. As believers, we need to continuously trust God concerning every aspect of our lives, depend on Him in all and do as He has commanded always to enjoy the benefits He has in store for us. Remain encouraged in Jesus name.
