Text: Psalms 78:18-22
INTRODUCTION
For every believer, God has a pre-ordained plan, which is His Perfect Will Eph 1:5,11.
The Almighty God is very deliberate about His Will for Christians as He desires the best for us
3 John 2, Jer. 29:11.
As our Creator and Lord, God has the ultimate authority over our lives. Anything outside of God brings chaos. May the Holy Spirit give us understanding of His Word in Jesus name.
OUTLINE: THE PERMISSIVE WILL OF GOD
For us to have a sound understanding of what Permissive will of God is, we must firstly know what the will of God is.
- The Perfect Will of God – Living according to His Purpose Isa 46:10, Jer 29:11
*His perfect will for every Christian must also be met with a complete trust in Him alone Prov. 3:5-6,
Gen. 17:1.
*Complete submission to God’s plan – John 6:38, Phil 2:5-8.
If we want to enjoy God’s best we must submit completely to Him Psalm 84:11, Proverbs 2:7,
Phil 4:19.
*If we follow God’s perfect will and endure to the end as Christians, we will be rewarded with the crown of life James 1:12.
2. The Permissive Will of God - Rejection of His Perfect Plan.
* Permissive will is that which is granted by God to satisfy the desires in the hearts of believers.
*This usually occurs when there is a desire or craving by believers for that which is outside God’s will. James 4:3, Psalms 78:18.
*Permissive will is a rejection of God as our leader, source and all in all 1 Sam 8:6-9, 1 Sam 8:20.
*It is the evidence that we do not trust in God and that He does not know the best for your life.
Eph 3:20, Heb 12:2
*There are consequences when we go with permissive will Numb 11:33-34, 1 Sam 8:11-18,
2 Kings 20:12-19, Psalms 81:11-16.
- Our moment of reflection
*To continue to walk the path of our destiny in God, the authority of the Lord over our lives should never be challenged (Isa. 64:8), (Psa. 100:3), (Rom. 9:20).
*Overcoming the power of the flesh – Romans 12:2, James 4:7-8
*Obedience to all God’s commands is necessary for us to enjoy the benefits of His will and plan for us Isa 1:19, John 15:10
CONCLUSION: God has perfected his Will for us even before time (Isaiah 46:10). Let us submit to Him in gratitude and faithfulness. Have an ironclad relationship with the owner of your soul and He will bring it all to pass unto eternity in Heaven in Jesus name Habakkuk 2:3.
