TRUE RICHES

TRUE RICHES

TOPIC: TRUE RICHES
INTRODUCTION
The world measures a man's worth and riches by how much money and goods he has acquired.
Though the Bible did not condemn having money and goods, nevertheless, the wisdom of God
says it is only the wicked who prosper in the world. Many believers do not fully u nderstand the
meaning of true riches Dan. 5:21, Psa.73:12, Prov.13:7. May the Holy Spirit grant us deeper
understanding of the Lord's mind concerning this discourse in Jesus name.
1.WORLDLY WEALTH
When a man has lots of money, we say he is rich, but Jesus disagrees.
*The riches of this world are counterfeit and deceitful and worthless according to the Scriptures.
Matt. 13:22, Rev. 3:17.
*Jesus says the rich of this world should be pitied and not envied. Luke 6:24, James 5:1-3
*The worldly rich are so poverty stricken and disadvantaged that they cannot inherit the kingdom
of God according to Jesus. Matt. 19:24, Matt. 6:24.
2.TRUE RICHES
Jesus cautions about the confusion of money and goods with true riches.
True riches are not denominated in world currencies but in the glory of God. True riches are the
glory of God in authentic believers. Rev. 3:18
*When Moses asked to see the glory of God, he did not see money, gold, or silver. Instead, he saw
the intrinsic glorious nature and character of God Exod. 34:6-7.
*True riches endure but money, on the other hand, grows wings and flies away Prov. 23:4-5.
According to Jesus, money does not belong to the believer. It belongs to Caesar Matt. 22:21.
3.TRUE RICHES ARE NOT FOR THE UNBELIEVERS.
God never gives true riches to those who are not in Christ. He only gives them counterfeits.
God would never give anything valuable to unbelievers. If you ever see an unbeliever with
anything, know automatically that it is rubbish 1 John 2:16-17, Matt 7:6, Luke 16:15.
4.WORLDLY GAINS ARE GARBAGE.
Everything we gain in this world is rubbish, that includes worldly gains of believers.
Once we receive Christ and He opens our eyes, we come to realize that these gains are worthless.
1 Tim 6:5-11, Phil. 3:7-9, Col. 3:11

5.RICHES IN GLORY
The world is in drought. We live in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water.
People need the truth. They need the righteousness of God. Believers are the people with great
gains who can supply what the world needs according to our riches in Christ Jesus.
Psa. 63:1, John 7:38, Phil. 4:19, 1 Cor. 1:4-6
CONCLUSION
It is important for us believers to truly understand God’s kingdom dynamics. God blessed Solomon
because he did not ask for the world or for the worldly things - things that the gentiles seek 2
Chron. 1:11-12. For believers, our true riches are in God and by doing His will. Like the Levites
of old, our inheritance is in God. Ezek. 44:28
